How You Can Help

Founded in 2007, the Aghmat Foundation, a non-profit association (governed by the Moroccan statute of 15 November, 1958) aims to excavate, conserve, preserve and enhance the site of medieval Aghmat.

Its members share the pride of participating in an exemplary work of philanthropy and community support and benefit from a privileged access to new discoveries (personalized visits, newsletters, biannual meetings …)

To accomplish its mission the Aghmat Foundation relies on its own resources: volunteering and donations.

If you want to learn about the history and heritage of Morocco, if you want to protect sites threatened by real estate speculation, if you want to support archaeological excavations and make culture and history accessible to the greatest number of people, please consider making a donation.

Whatever the amount or nature, you can be assured that it will be fully used to protect the site. You will be informed exactly of the actions taken through your generosity.

Donations can be made either by check made out to the MTSU Foundation and mailed to:

MTSU Foundation
Box 109
Wood Steagall Center
Middle Tennessee State University
Murfreesboro, TN 37132

The check should be clearly marked on the “for” line as “Aghmat Archaeology Project, acct. #92496″ and accompanied with a short note stating that is is for Ron Messier’s archaeology project in Morocco.

Donations can also be made online at

Again, in the designation/comment box, it should be specified as for Ron Messier’s Aghmat Archaeology Project in Morocco, acct. #92496.
